Can i repeat year 12

I don't think I've even completed a chapter or exercise in methods all year, or chemistry for that matter. Psychology I also do no work at all, just the regular note taking in class, and for business also.

I'm kicking myself for being ignorant and stupid for completing my year 12 studies in this way since I have no way of getting a high enough ATAR to do Commerce at Monash. I would actually love a I booked exam revisions for all my subject and trying as hard as I can to go through as much past exam papers as I can these upcoming holidays.

I'm starting to see sense that I will probably end up with a really low ATAR , so should I just repeat year 12 again next year? If so what are the consequences? Thanks for your time. There is no formal penalty for repeating Year There is only the informal penalty of another year of your life sucked dry by the monster that is your final year of secondary education.

I remember having this conversation two years ago with my girlfriend. I told her to go HAM Spoiler. Couldn't agree more with Brenden. Work hard, work smart and learn well and you can definitely pull off a high ATAR. If you're extremely unhappy with your year 12 results, you can definitely repeat. You won't be punished for it by any tertiary institution, anywhere. However, you need to balance this with the fact that you will be adding on not only another year of VCE stress and workload, but also another year of school fees.

This may not be a problem for everyone, but it's certainly a factor to consider. Other than this, if you didn't work efficiently the first time round, what's to say you will the second?

You're almost definitely probably a lot more level-headed than me, but I know that if I repeated VCE I'd be extremely resentful and tired of the whole system at least even more than I already was post-exams. Let's also not forget what the ATAR is for. It's nothing more than a means of entrance into tertiary education. It is not a bragging right. It is not a status symbol. It is not a testament to your character or, really, to your intelligence. If you can get yourself into a commerce degree anywhere, you can always transfer to your preferred institution if you work hard towards that goal.

Also don't forget that courses often take in a certain amount below the first-round cut-off ATAR. Please enter your comment! Please enter your name here. You have entered an incorrect email address! OK let me give you another scenario. Someone in does: English[30], Chem[30], Methods[30], Physics [30] but it doesn't get them the mark they want. In they do another 2 subjects, will the subjects from still count towards their final aggregate?

You keep all of your studies in total with the best score being used if you repeated a study. Picture this scenario: English [30], Methods [30], Specialist [30], Chemistry [30], Physics [30] English [25], Methods [35], Specialist [20], Biology [25], Psychology [30] The subjects which will count will be: English [30], Methods [35], Specialist [30], Chemistry [30], Physics [30], Biology [25], Psychology [30].

Note that you keep all studies that you performed in total, but if you repeated a subject, then you only keep the best score of that subject, since you can't have the same subject twice. However, only 6 can count towards your aggregate, so in that case, biology would probably not be included. Here are the VCAA sources to backup what everyone here is saying: Quote from: laseredd on October 23, , pm. Just knowing I'm not the only one that's probably going to have to redo Year 12 helps a lot.

The exams are in a few days and for some of my subjects I still haven't even finished all the chapters yet. I got a 35 for Biology in and if I redo Year 12 I don't think I want to redo Biology because the score is satisfactory.

It will be a 2 year gap so I'm not sure if the Study Score can still be used. Can anybody here recommended anything for me? Are there any low requirement courses can get me a good transfer prospect? I've thought about going to like Deakin for Science because it's under
